Description
This is a retelling of a Jataka tale, written thousands of years ago about the previous lives of the Buddha. A long time ago in a kampong was a pond that was full of fish. But the pond soon began to dry, and a watchful crane had an idea: He would fool the fish into thinking that he was bringing them to a large lake that was overflowing with water. In truth, he would gobble them up on his way there. Unbeknownst to him, a crab had been watching the crane's antics and was sure he knew what the crane was really up to. Wanting to teach the crane a lesson, he asked the crane to take him to the lake as well. And the crane greedily agreed. Sure enough, the crab found out that he was right when he saw the pile of fish bones near the lake. Cleverly, the crab taught the crane a lesson that he would not soon forget. - from Amzon
